The purpose of the Jacob Hartog Foundation is to promote practising of art and interest in therein, especially of painting, sculpture and graphics. Promotion of this art is by the annualΒ the Jacob Hartog award to an artist , a member of the Association of Artists of the " Painter Society Pulchri Studio" in The Hague (hereinafter Pulchri).
Each year, this prize will be awarded at the Spring Exhibition, selected by a jury formed each year by Pulchri. The jury will consist of a chairman (the chairman of Pulchri ) up to 6 members, including the winner of the last year.
The Foundation is affiliated with the Hartog family. The annual awards ceremony was established and funded in 1952 by Jacob Hartog . After his death in 1962, the Jacob Hartog Foundation was established by his son Harold Hartog and funded. The Hartog family delivers the chairman.
The Foundation works with a board of four persons: a chairman, a treasurer , a secretary and a board member. These board members receive no (expenses) fee.
The Foundation is looking for individuals and / or companies who make a donation in order to ensure sustainability in the long term of the annual prize , now β¬ 2.500.
These donations are recorded in the annual report of the foundation.
If the donation is done in the form of a so-called periodic payments with at least five equal annual installments and in the form of a notarial deed. The amount of the donation is fully deductible from taxable income.Β
